Yes, That's Right

Actors' Mission opens its 7th season with David Mamet's "Oleanna" on March 5, 6, 7, and 8. "Oleanna" is directed by Jasmine Weaver.

"Oleanna" is about the power struggle between a university professor and one of his female students who accuses him of sexual harrassment when she visits his office to explore her failure in his class. John, played by Donovan Rawlings attempts to reconcile his conflict with Carol, played by Mallory Brady after his chances of tenure at the university are ruined by the charges. The drama escalates through the final scene, leaving audiences to determine their own understanding and perceptions on several key issues:

Did sexual harassment actually occur?
Who is the protagonist in this play? The antagonist?
Which version of Carol is the true one: the confused girl who appeals for personal instruction in the first act, or the woman who confidently asserts herself in the final scenes?

"Oleanna" will be performed at the Elk's Lodge on C Street in Rock Springs. On March 5, 6, and 7, performances will begin at 7pm. On March 8, there will be a matinee beginning at 2pm. As always, free dinner will be served one hour prior to performances. This production is free and open to the public, thanks to the generosity of our patrons and Sweetwater BOCES.
